Information On How Quickly Can One Foresee Maternity Signs?

October 5th, 2010

One of the first concerns for many women, after realizing they are pregnant, is about the possible pregnancy symptoms. The reality of pregnancy symptoms is that they are generally not very severe and only last a few weeks, although there will many horror stories you will be told by your friends and relatives.

Pregnancy symptoms will vary between women and even between pregnancies. While some women will experience symptoms for several months, the majority only have suffer for a few weeks. These symptoms pale into insignificance when compared to the joy of the birth. Definitely contact a physician if you’re displaying virtually any signals of early pregnancy signs.

Soon after conception, there is a sudden release of hormones that help the implantation of the fertilized egg to the wall of the uterus, and this can cause early pregnancy symptoms. One of the most common of these early symptoms is enlargement and tenderness of the breasts. The early symptom of nausea can start within the first few weeks after your first missed period, at six weeks pregnant, but will normally disappear by the time you are twelve weeks. Once more contact your physician or midwife if your developing any first signs of pregnancy. Just a few women actually continue to have any nausea after 12 weeks.

Pregnancy symptoms are largely the result of a sudden increase in HCG, progesterone and estrogen, which have an effect on the mother’s body at about 12 or 14 days. Women who have been pregnant before tend to experience pregnancy symptoms earlier than those who are pregnant for the first time.

The most well-known symptom of pregnancy is morning sickness, which in fact can occur at any time of the day. This earliest of symptoms can be experienced as soon as one week after conception takes place. While it can be uncomfortable at the time, it usually doesn’t last past about 14 weeks. Try eating small frequent healthy snacks to ease the worst of the morning sickness, and ease the actual nausea by eating dry crackers.

Spotting or slight bleeding that is a pale pink color, can be seen around the time of your usual period. This is called implantation bleeding and may occur about 8 or 10 days after ovulation, when the embryo actually attaches to the wall of the uterus. There is no need to be worried about some light bleeding that might last for about 12 days.

Another uncomfortable pregnancy symptom is feeling the need to urinate frequently, which is caused by the enlarging uterus pressing on the bladder. While you feel as though you need to urinate more often, you may not really need to. As the fetus continues to grow, this symptom will increase, especially in the third trimester.

You may feel constantly tired during pregnancy, more than your activity levels indicate. Eat regularly, focusing on good nutrition; rest when you can, but still take regular exercise to keep fit and healthy. You may also feel dizzy or light-headed, caused by the compression of major arteries by the growing uterus.

Increasing pregnancy hormones may also cause heartburn or constipation, due to a slowing of digestion. It is important to drink lots of water and include foods that are high in dietary fiber to prevent and control these symptoms. Other possible pregnancy symptoms include headaches, nosebleeds, irritability, weight increase and mood swings, and these normally occur in the first trimester, settling down by 12 weeks.

At all times get hold of your health care provider for virtually any medical problems.
