When you trade futures when do you pay the buy/sell price?
Also…why are the price different for the different months?
And…does the margin price affect your gains or simply your status to trade?

Thanks alot in advance!

travis d asked:

Ive never traded before but not exactly a novice to the markets. Looking to trade some etf’s and possibly some futures. Does anyone have a platform they could recommend? Looking to go long and short. Or any books or websites that would help me get started. Just looking to break the ice, little nervous about jumping in.

What are the most active trading times of day for the ER2?

bjotnol asked:

For the Russell 2000 e-mini futures, I know the first part of the morning is usually fairly active. What about the rest of the day? Are there certain times of day that generally have higher activity? I’m looking for 2-3 times per day that have higher activity than the rest of the time.

A citation would be very helpful, but please answer even if you don’t have one.

Thanks!

I see this on CNBC every day! They seem to indicate that this could indicate that the stock market would rise on a positive number and fall on a negative number! Is this an indicator or pre market trading or overseas trading? How are they making the predictions for the day? What are they basing it on?

What are the TRADING SYMBOLS that I can use to watch CRUDE OIL prices?

mrdanman@sbcglobal.net asked:

I like to watch the CALL and PUT options on the stocks that I own.

Now, because of the World condition and Gasoline prices, I would like to watch the same thing on Crude Oil.

I do not care about Oil Companys, per se, nor do I care about Futures, unless I have to start learning about those.

I am thinking there are CALL and PUT options on CRUDE OIL! What are the symbols?

Futures Volatility and Volume traded as it gets to expiration date?

July 10th, 2008

beeforsalmon asked:

For something like an Interest rates future, does the volume traded and volatility of the future decrease as it gets to the expiration date. For equity futures, volatility and volume increase but for something like interest rates, unless there is a major shock, would traders be more concerned with taking a view on futures in a year or 6 months than trading on one with a week to expiration. Thanks for the help
