difference between currency futures trading currency?

I know that in futures, we should have our money in the brokerage account as said in initial margin requirements for buying particular futures contract…..Then there will be specifications for the contract like contract size, tick size….Based on the Contract size and our betting will move…..If our bet was wrong then we will be losing money and once it reached the maintenance marigin , we get the marigin call to add funds to rebound to initial marigin……This is how futures work …correct?

1.Now, what is the dfference between currency futures and trading currency ?Does trading currency ordinarily involves same like initial marigin amount, contract size and maintenance marigin?

2.Now, does hedging in future contract does not have marigin requirements?Like Buy USD/AUD Sell USD/AUD in two different trades? If yes, does hedging in all futures ( currency, index, interest ratesetc…) dont have marigin requirements?

Thank you .

Anyone have experience trading futures?

Here’s what I’m thinking of doing:

Pick a future that’s been volatile lately
Buy an option on the future to increase the swing even further
Watch the swings, and if I’m up 25%-30%, close the position.

Would this work? I’m not interested in researching fundamentals or following technical indicators. Of course, I wouldn’t risk more money than I can afford to lose.

What is the minimum capital needed for forex, options and futures trading ? Free and recommended simulators ?

Hello guys,

I’m interested in learning more about forex, options and futures trading. I heard that there are mini or micro account that can go as little as US$ 200 or 300 dollar. Is it true ?

Also, any recommendations for free forex, options and futures trading simulators ? I know that some websites provide this service but usually the virtual capital is too high (10K or up), and I want to set the initial capital to small amount like US$ 300 or 500.

If possible, is there any recommendations for courses/books ? I’m not aiming for those fancy amount of income, several thousand/month is OK. Of course I’m not looking for courses that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars…
Thanks for the input. I agree that it’s a bit too much to expect thousands of returns for such a small amount of capital.

But, if I expect my capital which is around 300 or 500 to be doubled by around 1-2 month. Doesn’t is sound possible ????
My plan is actually something like this :
The capital will be 300 or 500. The goal is to double the capital by around 1 - 2 mounth(s).
When I have more money, I will buy more lots…

To make it safer, every time I manage to double the previous capital, I will do one more time before I plan to use more capital to trade.

It will be something like this (US$500 capital) :
500 - 1000 - 1000 (don’t use for trading) - 2000 - 2000(don’t use for trading) - 4000 and so on …

Now the problem is to find the system that are able to do this… Any recommendations ?

I personally distrust systems that cost hundreds or thousands or dollars. There are simply too many scams…

Is Trading Futures in Stock Markets risky even for an experienced Trader?

Justanian asked:

Normally when we buy a future we set a target to book profits. But, when the market falls we are loath to put a stop loss and we loose a big chunk of money. Last year I made a profit of about fifty thousand dollars playing in future. This year all that proft got wiped off in just three months. Should I stop dabbling in futures?
